Wonderful app!

Clearly written and thoughtfully organized everyday practices that are sure to enhance your life.I was already a subscriber to Rick Hansens online newsletter but i really appreciate the easy access to these concepts via this app. Only I wish there was also an audio component because listening to the practices/explanations as i drive, move thru my day or fall asleep would really help "take in" this good.

Wonderful and practical

Such a useful tool. I recommend it to all my clients and use it myself.

Great app

Technical aspect needs a little work, but the content within this app is great and has helped me a great deal in my practise. I highly recommend.

Buddhas Brain, My Mind

Excellent book for all people. All religions. I especially appreciate that it is science-based. Bought the book, the audiobook and the app. Investment for a lifetime!

Very useful

Ive been waiting for an app like this which blends useful ancient practices with the latest Western research. This app does not disappoint. Thank you!

Great App!

Ive long been a fan of Rick Hanson and his books, blog, talks, etc. This app helps bring his work into the moments when I need them the most. Ive referred his book to many people and now Ill do the same for his app.

Great app but could use audio

Ive read Hansons books and as a person and physician am immersed in mindfulness and applied neuroscience. I highly recommend this app for personal transformation. It would be GREAT to have audio as one turned the pages of the app, to close the eyes and have the option to just listen. Hope that addition is made at some point (or if it is already there and Im missing how to turn it on, let me know please). Thanks Rick, et al for this great app. Zach

Doesnt take advantage of iPhone/iPad graphics

The sentiments voiced in this app can be helpful, but if you subscribe to Ricks JOTs, you get them in email anyway. This is essentially a text only (and very wordy) application that takes no advantage whatever of the graphics capabilities of the iPhone/iPad. The most graphical thing about it is the icon of the Buddha you use to enter the application. After that, its just strings of text and menus of the kind you might see on a PC. Especially for $4.99, I would expect a better iPhone app. Contrast for example the Abraham card decks on the iPhone, which in my opinion offer an example of motivational sayings for the iPhone done in a way that has nice graphics and takes advantage of the iPhone touch screen.

Goods with room for improvement...

I own the book that this app is based on and appreciate having all exercises at hand so easily. Guided audio versions of at least some of the exercises would be a great next step in the development of this app!

Great content that can use some tweaking

I find the content very useful but the navigation is strange and difficult. I find that I have to keep poking at the screen to bring up the navigation menu. On some screens, it seems there is no navigation. And I agree that guided meditations would be a wonderful addition.

Great pocket full of wisdom

I love the access to wisdom in my pocket that this app provides. Rick and his work is a gift to all of us.

Great companion to books!

This app is a great companion to both "The Buddhas Brain" and "Just One Thing" books. Its a terrific and very useful app. Thanks for giving us this tool!

Excellent resource

Im a psychotherapist and recommending this to clients as I use it myself. Well worth the cost

Great!

I love this app its very useful! I also have the book. Full of Wisdom!

amazing

love the book and was stoked to find all the important info in portable format with this amazing app!

Buddhas Brain

At first it seemed like a great title, but reading through the self-help recommendations was nothing more than reading through long texts of the same do this and that and youll feel better. Not inspirational to me at all.

Great App for learning mindfulness

Love Rick Hansons work and this app. reinforces his books and CDs. Easy to use and useful tools. Look forward to more updates!

Fav app just got a whole lot better!

This mindful app just got a whole lot better since the addition of audio. As an avid & Grateful student & practitioner of Rick Hansens invaluable & transformational books and meditation CDs, I was hoping when I downloaded the first version that I could go directly to a fav practice and HEAR a meditation read to me, for immediate use in stressful moments. Now that the audio has been added, it is so much more powerful. To hear Ricks soothing voice and confident intelligence begins to bring me back into mindfulness, and then reminds me how I can best bring myself back into my true self, no matter what stressor had me temporarily hooked. I am confident that this app will continue to improve. What I hope for is an advanced version for those of us who have already learned the science and wisdom from his books and meditation CDs, so that we can quickly find & choose a fav practice at anytime, to hear an audio mediation, without the explanation & reason behind it that we have already studied & internalized. Just give me the meditation that I need to hear NOW. This new version has come closer. This app is much better than drugs or alcohol, and not quite as good as hang gliding, scuba diving or playing Mozart together in a fine string quartet. But when my cellist & violist are not with me, this app is. I am more Grateful than I can say for the brilliance of this work, the great hope of neuroplasticity, and the healing. peace and growth that it has given me.

Helpful app

I try to start each day with a little of Buddhas brain. These short practices and readings get me focused in the right direction. The added audio pieces are a nice feature.

Personal Moments of Zen

I love this app. As my title says, it gives me personal moments of zen whenever I need them. Like having my own private Buddha living on my iPhone for those times when Im feeling like I need a spiritual and emotional pep talk.
